2 Songs For the HYMNISH Retreat

I am entering and application to be accepted for the All About Worship songwriters retreat. They ask me to submit two songs, with lyrics, for them to review. I thought I’d share them with you also.

Awaken our Hearts

Verse

Awaken the hearts of your people,

send a revival into this place

Stir up the depths of our longing,

we come before you seeking your face

Chorus

For we have forgotten the taste of your glory,

forgotten your voice

Your beauty is hidden, our eyes cannot see you,

ears cannot hear through the noise

Awaken our hearts

Breathe Your Love In Me

Verse 1

I see his lips moving but I don’t hear the words

Cause I’ve heard them so many times before

I read and respond, with the others gathered here

Like I’ve done so many times before

Prechorus

Some times I feel like, it’s the same old same old

Sometimes I feel I’m not going anywhere

Sometimes I feel like I’m, lost in a circle

And I don’t care, but I want to care

Chorus

Breathe your love in me, close my eyes so I can see

Make me open ready me to receive your love

Breathe your love in me, close my eyes so I can see

Make me open ready me to receive your love

Verse 2

I’ve been here a thousand times

Same old reason, same old rhymes

Same old things are keeping me from you

I know all the words to say

I know all the prayers to pray

motions flawless, but the heart not true

Mid-Winter At Forest Glen

Just got back from a great time at the first Jr. High Mid-Winter. I had the joy of leading worship for the awesome Jr. High group.

It rained most of the time, but that didn’t slow anyone down. Thanks so much to all the campers, adults, leadership and staff that helped to make it such an awesome time.

Jr High Mid Winter…

I am so glad to have the opportunity to lead worship for the Jr High Mid Winter conferences this year. It will be good to see lots of friends from camps past, and meet new ones.
I’ll update you some more as we get closer, but for now be in prayer for those weekends, the adults and youth attending and for all those involved in the planning.
